In Dakhla, most camps are built for kitesurfing first, on the lagoon. For surfing, the choice is smaller: a few schools set up in front of the waves at Foum Labouir, guides who take you to the spots by 4×4, and ecolodges at the tip of the peninsula, facing La Sarga. We compared 4 places for a surf trip in Dakhla: what is included, the budget and who each one suits.

Dakhla town or La Sarga: where to choose your surf camp?
The places in Dakhla are split between the town, close to Foum Labouir, and the southern tip of the peninsula, at La Sarga.
In town: schools close to the waves
The surf schools are set up in front of Foum Labouir, the right-hander closest to town. You stay wherever you like, in town or by the lagoon, and the school picks you up. It is the most flexible and cheapest option, ideal if you also want to try kitesurfing on the lagoon.
At La Sarga: sleep in front of the wave
At the southern tip of the peninsula, the ecolodges sit along the long right-hander of La Sarga, far from everything. You surf a few steps from the lodge, but access is by dirt track and the budget is higher.
