About Le Penon (Seignosse, Landes)
Le Penon breaks on sandbanks shaped by jetties, which give lefts and rights. The spot works at all tides, and is better at lower tide.
At high tide, the shorebreak gets strong, and currents appear as soon as the swell picks up.
My take on Le Penon
It’s a good spot to learn in summer: the waves are easy and long, great for learning to stand up on the board. And it’s less crowded than the Capbreton spots.
When to surf Le Penon?
In summer, with a small swell, it is the spot for surf lessons. From September to November, more regular swells make it interesting for improving.
